Busbies, Bond, bull dogs and the Beatles descended on Ilkley for this year's carnival on the 2nd May as "Best of British" is herald a success.
The show stopping parade along The Grove was just the beginning of a fun-filled family day out, with the fun dog show, a vintage car parade, fun fair and an array of children's entertainment.
The 'Best of British' weather didn't stop the crowds turning out to be wowed by the breathtaking headline act Knights of the Damned performing live jousting and choreographed 'foot fights' throughout the day!
Ilkley Carnival is run entirely by a committee of volunteers, and profits made will go back into the community. Half of this year's proceeds will go to primary beneficiaries, 'Aware' (Airedale and Wharfedale Autism Resource), Ilkley Christchurch Scouts and Ilkley Cricket Club, with the rest being shared amongst other local good causes.
Each year, the carnival raises an incredible amount through sponsorship, ticket sales and donations but next year we need YOU to make it bigger and better than ever!
Contact secretary Mari Hunt on firstname.lastname@example.org if you'd like to join our volunteer committee and experience the rewards of bringing another successful carnival to Ilkley.
