For 2019 we are giving you two areas on the show field to enjoy live music!
The Ilkley Rocks stage will feature a great line up of bands and singers performing around our food court, while over in the Acoustic Teepee, a more relaxed experience invites you into the world of fine tuning, guitars, groups and spectacular solos.
ROCKS LINE UP
THE EC-TIX – 12.45pm – 1.10pm
The Ec-Tix were formed after three friends Alan, Ben & Jordan, who have learning disabilities, autism and a love for music got together at SORM Studios in Bradford to sing together. Their passion for music was evident and it was decided that they would form a band and sing on stage in front of an audience. Overcoming anxiety & stimulus overload, such as large crowds and noise the lads performed their first gig at an event run by SORM Studios and they received an amazing welcome and requests for them to perform again. The Ec-Tix have performed together at many events, including festivals alongside mainstream bands and their popularity is growing. Their performances are fun with an eclectic mix of genres such as rock, indie, Ska and pop chosen by the lads, which is usually well received with audiences encouraged to join in or dance to the music. Once seen never forgotten!
TEMPORAL STORM – 1.20pm – 1.45pm
Temporal Storm’s original material is heavily influenced by both the grunge movement and energy and massive riffs which you would commonly hear in Heavy Metal. Their rhythms could have come straight from Nirvana’s “Nevermind” album while the riffs and solos are something you would expect to hear from a Black Sabbath record.
Despite being so young the band have already played across West Yorkshire and are really making a name for themselves and are expecting to record a debut single in the coming months.
THOMAS THORPE – 1.55pm – 2.20pm
Thomas Thorpe I have been performing since the age of 13 and seriously enjoying the audience interaction! More recently I’ve started writing and composing and released my single “Nightlife” in September of last year! I am so excited to perform at Ilkley Carnival
BACKSPACE – 2.30pm – 2.55pm
Backspace are a young indie / alt pop band from Guiseley. A group of five 14-16 year-olds, Rosie, Harry, Alex, Miles and Harry have been writing songs, recording and playing live together for over 2 years. They won the Kirkstall Festival Battle of the Bands in 2018 as well as releasing their first EP ‘Boys’ which is available on Spotify. They have recently played support slots at the Wardrobe in Leeds as well as appearing at the Music For Youth National Festival in Birmingham.
THE PACIFICS – 3.05pm – 3.30pm
The Pacific’s are all Sixth Form students studying A-Level Music at South Craven School. They have already done a few gigs and are looking forward to playing at the Carnival.
THE UNPRODUCTIVES – 3.40pm – 4.05pm
Unproductive: Antonia, Tom, Sami, Alicia, Evie and Xander, are Year 11 students at Bradford Grammar School. Whilst studying for music GCSE, the six members got together with a shared interest of performing in their spare time. Antonia on drums, Tom and Sami on guitar, Xander on bass, Evie on keys and Alicia singing vocals, Unproductive are a talented group of young musicians with a passion for playing popular rock covers as well as their own original songs. The band are working on more original music and hope to release it later this year.
JESSICA LEE MORGAN – 4.15pm – 4.40pm
Jessica Lee Morgan is a singer songwriter of rock/folk pedigree. Her songs are honest, strong and often with a dose of good humour. Jess’s mum is Mary Hopkin, who reached Number 1 with ‘Those Were The Days’ in 1968. We understand Jess will be singing her own version of this on the day. She’s accompanied by her acoustic guitar, foot percussion and partner Christian Thomas on bass.
