Ilkley Rocks and Acoustic Marquee 2023
Once again Ilkley Rocks and the new Acoustic Marquee will showcase some of the best local musical talent!
Throughout the afternoon, Ilkley Carnival’s mini music festival will feature a line up of bands, duos and solo performers including:
Finishers
Finishers are an Ilkley-based covers band who have been playing together for a couple of years. Finishers turned in a fabulous set at last year’s Carnival before going on to perform at The King’s Hall for the inaugural Ilkley Pride event and at the event village for the Ilkley Half-Marathon amongst other local performances. You can expect them to play a range of well-known songs from the 70’s through to the 00’s including alternative, new-wave, britpop, punk and rock/pop classics. Ben Jordan: Yorkshire’s No.1 Ed Sheeran Tribute act
Ben Jordan will wow the carnival crowds with his cover versions of Ed Sheeran’s biggest hits. Ben doesn’t use backing tracks, everything is produced live on stage. Find out more about Ben at edsheerantributeuk.co.uk
ALEX ASH
Alex Ash is a 16-year-old singer songwriter. He plays a variety of covers and some of his own material, his biggest inspirations are Hozier, Greta Van Fleet and David Bowie.
EC-TIX
Back by popular demand! The Ec-Tix were formed after three friends Alan, Ben & Jordan, who have learning disabilities, autism and a love for music got together at SORM Studios in Bradford to sing together. Their passion for music was evident and it was decided that they would form a band and sing on stage in front of an audience. Overcoming anxiety & stimulus overload, such as large crowds and noise the lads performed their first gig at an event run by SORM Studios and they received an amazing welcome and requests for them to perform again. The Ec-Tix have performed together at many events, including festivals alongside mainstream bands and their popularity is growing. Their performances are fun with an eclectic mix of genres such as rock, indie, Ska and pop chosen by the lads, which is usually well received with audiences encouraged to join in or dance to the music. Once seen never forgotten!
STOLEN BOWS
The Stolen Bows are musicians Andrea Hardaker (vocals, ukulele, violin, piano, harmonica, banjolele, suitcase drum) and Cathy Crabtree (vocals, guitar and lap steel guitar). They play Americana/Country and other styles – originals and covers, singing harmonies. They play gigs and open mics in the Yorkshire and Craven areas and are returning to Filey Folk Festival again this year. Follow them on Facebook.
GRAEME MATTHEWS
Graeme is an ex student of Leeds College of Music where he studied music production. During his time there, he was encouraged to develop as a songwriter. His set is a mixture of covers and original songs. Intertwining light and dark, his own music reflecting life experiences, performed solo with acoustic guitar.
SORM STARS UK
Sorm Stars are a group of young singers accompanied by a live guitarist and sometimes backing tracks. They are based at SORM studios in Bradford and have played many live events including Sorm Fest and BBC Music Day.
THE LOST EMBERS
Just back from their spot at Filey Folk Festival, The Lost Embers are a local singer-songwriter duo. Today with special guest Andrea Hardaker, they’ll tell you a story or two that will touch your heart.
TIME WARP
Time Warp will be singing music from the 50s 60s 70s & Later
